Caroline Godwin · Discipline 02

Fire
Dancing

Eighteen fire props, a fire skirt nobody else has, and a fire aerial pentagram that burns while it spins. Fire is the loudest thing Caroline does, and the part of the show guests film on their phones.

What's in the Set

The Fire Repertoire

01

Fire Fans

From 10 to 18 wicks, plus a giant-fan set for large open spaces. The most photogenic prop in the kit and the one that reads best from a distance.

02

Fire Hoops

One or two burning hula hoops at once, on the body and off it.

03

Dragon Staff, Contact Staff & Double Staff

Rolling, sustained-contact work — dragon staff for spectacle, contact staff for the technical crowd, double staff for speed.

04

Poi, Snake Poi & Rope Dart

Long-line spinning that fills a wide frame; snake poi and rope dart give the longest, loosest trails for photography.

05

Palm Torches, Fire Fingers & Headdress

Close, slow, portrait-friendly fire for red carpets, photo moments and roaming.

06

Fire Breathing

Cornstarch-based rather than fuel-based — a large, clean fireball with a much safer profile. Available on the ground, on stilts, or from the air.

07

Fire Eating & Vapor Tricks

Intimate work for close crowds, including vapor tricks from the mouth.

08

The Fire Skirt

A wearable burning skirt built by Caroline. One of a kind — nobody else is booking this.

09

Lycopodium

A large, instantaneous flame burst used for reveals, drops and photo hits.

10

Aerial Fire

Fire wicks on the pentagram or hoop, and fire breathing performed while suspended.

Where & How It Happens

Booking Fire

Outdoor events

The default and the easiest — festivals, playa, pool decks, parking lots, racetracks, beaches, private estates.

Indoors

Possible in rooms with the height and the ventilation for it, and it has been done — but it needs venue sign-off, a fire watch and usually the fire marshal's approval. Ask early, not on the day.

Faux fire alternative

Where a venue says no to open flame, the same choreography runs on LED and silk-flame props and reads almost identically on camera.

Roaming & photo moments

Palm torches and headdress work well moving through a crowd with a safety on the walk.

Ceremonies & reveals

Openings, ribbon cuttings, wedding exits, lycopodium hits on a music cue.
